Medical Solutions Welcomes New Executive Hires in Marketing, HR, and Legal
Medical Solutions, one of the nation’s top travel nurse staffing companies, recently welcomed new executive hires in Marketing, Human Resources, and Legal.
Stephen Pedersen has joined the company as General Counsel. With nearly 20 years’ experience, Pedersen has a robust background in corporate law, contract negotiation, licensing, and litigation. Prior to joining the Medical Solutions team in March 2018, Pedersen served as Managing Director & General Counsel at Javlin Capital LLC. Pedersen, who is based in Omaha, earned his BA in Political Science from Creighton University and his J.D. from Duke University School of Law.
Joe Greene has come aboard as Chief Marketing Officer. Greene has 35 years of experience in marketing strategy, brand development, customer acquisition and retention and product development, coupled with a track record of success at the SVP/VP level for organizations including Chase, Bernstein-Rein Advertising, American Century Investments, and others. Prior to joining the Medical Solutions team in April 2018, Greene served as Vice President of Marketing at Public Service Credit Union and as Chief Marketing Officer at Great-West Financial. He is currently based in Denver, Colorado and has been a member of the city’s CMO Club chapter since 2012. Greene earned his BA in English from Hamilton College and his MBA in Marketing & Finance from Columbia Business School.
Medical Solutions also welcomes Dana Coonce as Executive Vice President of Talent and Performance. Coonce has more than 15 years’ experience in talent acquisition, employee engagement and development, organizational design, and performance management. Her passion is managing and developing employees so that they experience growth and job satisfaction while also creating high-performance teams that bolster organizational success. Previous to joining the Medical Solutions team in May 2018, Coonce served as Vice President of Human Resources at Hayneedle. Coonce, who is based in Omaha, earned her BA in Speech Communication, with an emphasis in HR Management and Organizational Development, from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.

Medical Solutions Named Among Denver’s 2018 Best Places to Work
Medical Solutions, one of the nation’s top healthcare staffing companies, has been named among Denver’s 2018 Best Places to Work by the Denver Business Journal. The rankings are based upon internal employee responses to the Quantum Workplace employee engagement survey.
According to the Denver Business Journal, its Best Places to Work awards “highlight companies in the Denver area whose operations are providing the top workplace environment and engaging their teams.”
Medical Solutions earned ninth place in the small category, for organizations with 24 or less local employees, and was recognized at a June 20th awards celebration at The Hangar at Stanley Marketplace in Aurora, Colorado.

Medical Solutions Sponsors Planet Water's Project 24 for World Water Day 2018
Medical Solutions, one of the nation’s largest Travel Nurse staffing companies, is proud to sponsor Planet Water Foundation’s Project 24 on World Water Day, Thursday, March 22, 2018.
Established in 1993, World Water Day is an opportunity to celebrate water and make a positive impact in the lives of global community members who suffer from a lack of clean, safe water and other water-related issues.
In response to staggering statistics like the fact that one in eight people worldwide do not have access to safe, clean drinking water, the mission of Project 24 is “to move the hands of time forward in 24 impoverished communities by installing and commissioning 24 clean water filtration systems in just 24 hours.”
“As a nurse, I believe that Project 24 is an amazing effort because it saves and improves lives worldwide by creating healthier conditions in these communities,” says Amber Barna, BSN, RN and Clinical Director of Nursing at Medical Solutions. “Statistics show that half of all the world’s hospital beds are occupied with people suffering from waterborne diseases that — with better availability of sanitary water in their communities — should be otherwise easily preventable.”
At 4 p.m. (PHT) on Thursday, March 22, the Medical Solutions-sponsored clean water filtration system will go up at the Buntog Elementary School in the Philippines, where the only water source is a dirty, deep well nearly a mile away. The Medical Solutions water tower will provide access to clean water for bathing, cooking, drinking, and cleaning to 237 students and 489 households in the village of 2,000 people.
Medical Solutions previously sponsored the implementation of clean water filtration systems in Cambodia and Indonesia in 2012, 2015, 2016, and 2017.

Medical Solutions to Acquire PPR
Transaction brings together complementary capabilities to further enable Medical Solutions’ growth
Combination creates second largest travel nurse staffing Company in the U.S.
Medical Solutions, a leading provider of healthcare staffing solutions for hospitals across the United States, today announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire PPR, a provider of travel nurse staffing and interim leadership for acute and post-acute markets. As part of the transaction, PPR will continue to operate as its own brand and will keep its offices in both Jacksonville and Tampa, Fla. Medical Solutions acquired PPR from Trivest Partners, who partnered with the company in 2016. The transaction is subject to standard conditions, including regulatory clearance, and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2018. Additional terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Medical Solutions offers a range of dynamic staffing solutions aimed to address hospitals’ specific and ever-changing needs. The company provides more than 1,600 hospitals around the country with highly skilled and qualified travel nurses. It also operates as a Managed Service Provider (MSP), helping to streamline and simplify workforce operations by exclusively managing a hospital’s entire travel nurse staffing process.
